I have to admit I’m really struggling with what to write for my blog entry today. I’ve been surviving off of late nights and little sleep for about a week as we prepared for then participated in the Capoeira Brasil annual Festival and Batizado. With guests in from Australia, Brasil, Mexico, Taiwan, China, the Netherlands and France, it felt just like a Capoeira Model United Nations. Every year, there is a great deal of hype and excitement and planning leading up to the event and the week itself is a non-stop whirlwind of friends, training, discussions, house guests, parties and finally the batizado graduation ceremony.

But now that it is over, I’m physically drained of any energy or creative thoughts. I’ve spent most of today just staring at my work computer without really getting any work done. It might have been a little smarter to ease back into the real world by taking the day off to just rest, but I didn’t plan that so well this year. Unfortunately I broke my pattern of Monday/Thursday posts last week – I missed putting anything on the blog last Thursday as my schedule is not my own during the batizado. So even though I don’t have much to say today, I wanted to get right back up on the writing horse. And to avoid having this post be nothing but my brain-dead rambling, I’m posting a link here to the latest item to make it on my travel wish list. Here’s hoping that Santa comes through this year!
